Position: communication assistant
Reports to: Communication Officer/Coordinator
Main Functions: To assist the communication officer in any relevant tasks pertaining to communication including content writing, communication materials for social media and website and production
Key responsibilities:
- Follow ups of communications tasks with each HOD
- Provide support to communication officer/coordinator for the dissemination of relevant information to all staff and ensure effective external communication of PILS by making sure PILS’ image is correctly used
- Provide support to the communication officer to produce and diffuse PILS’s annual report.
- Assist the communication dept. in the design and production of events, training, prevention, fundraising and education materials
- Create visual content for social media (AND CONTENT)
- Assist communication officer for follow ups of projects with external service providers
- Assist in the implementation of communication campaign of PILS
- Assist communication officer and ED with relevant social media strategies including content generation (Write a variety of content to support PILS communications and fundraising efforts including website, social media, brochures, press releases, articles and reports)
- Provide writing and editing services for communication, fundraising, prevention and assigned projects
- Provide copyrighting and copy editing support for projects and campaigns
Skills and qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication or any other relevant fields
- Graphic Design skills would be an advantage
- Proficiency Word, Excel, PowerPoint and adobe tools
- Experience in social media management would be an advantage
- At least 3 years experience in multimedia or communications with proven track record
- Good oral and written communications skills (Creole, French and English)
- Good knowledge of multimedia platforms and content
- Project management and time managements skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Creative and critical thinker
- Collaborative and team spirit
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with key affected populations (People living with HIV, female sex workers, transgender person, people who use drugs, LGBTQIA)
